James Suckling  90 points- "Attractive fruit purity in the red cherry zone with attractive oak too that's just melding together; this is spicy and frisky. The palate has some riper tannins in play, and there are dark plum and mocha flavors intertwined. This just holds on the finish."

Anyway you look at it, Mt. Beautiful Pinot Noir is the pinnacle of what we at Mt. Beautiful are all about. Subtlety is the secret inside this wine. It begins with sophisticated fragrances of black cherries and violets while showcasing an elegantly expressive palate of ripe bramble fruit and subtle tannins. As the personal favorite of our owner David Teece, it's incredibly important for our Pinot Noir to showcase the best aspects of the varietal, therefore it is grown in the highest elevation in the vineyard.

Beautiful wine comes from a beautiful place. Mt. Beautiful wines are the expression of the wild, rugged and breathtakingly scenic region of North Canterbury. Certified-sustainable and estate-grown, these distinctively restrained wines let the pure terroir shine through. Only seven miles from the ocean, the vineyards are protected from harsh sea winds by their benevolent namesake, Mt. Beautiful.

World-renowned scholar/entrepreneur and New Zealand native David Teece, together with his wife Leigh, spent two years searching for just this spot, where they could pioneer an undiscovered region and fulfill their dream of bringing the best of New Zealand to the world. We hope you enjoy the fruits of their mission.
