Lots of rye initially but quite tempered by familiar bourbon notes. . The rye also provides a nice flinty-ness, think fresh sharpened pencil, and a subtle herbal quality…believe or not a touch of mint chocolate chip ice cream. The bold-ish spice notes of cinnamon, clove, peppercorns, and dried orange peel show off the bourbon more.
It's back! Very similar to original Bourye in age profile and component whiskeys, we actually think this one is better. Unique and very premium blend of old and rich bourbon (9 years old) and rye (10 and 16 years old) whiskeys making for a premier sipping whiskey and one of our (High West) all time favorites.
